ABOUT CHARLOTTE

I am a certified Body Control Pilates teacher and hold a Level 3 Matwork qualification.

I was first introduced to Pilates by my physiotherapist following a gymnastics career. I suffered with hypermobility in my joints and lower back pain due to the technical demands of the sport.

Over the years Pilates has given me an enhanced understanding of working within my bodies range of movement to safely maximise its potential. As well as this it has also cured my lower back pain.

I believe that Pilates is a fantastic discipline that can work for everybody whatever age or ability. I am truly passionate about teaching and enjoy sharing the benefits of Pilates with other people.

Watching my clients become more in tune with their own bodies, seeing their postures improve and reducing their pain with each session is why I love what I do.

I hope to help you along your Pilates journey whatever your end goal may be.

WHY BODY CONTROL PILATES?

Pilates is a safe sequence of exercises which combines mental and physical conditioning that develops a strong body and a sound mind. The Pilates method focuses on using our deep core muscles that support the spine to build strength from within.

Body Control Pilates is widely seen as a benchmark for safe and effective teaching of the highest quality and is medically approved. It is Europes largest professional Pilates organisation. Classes are hands-on and limited to a maximum of 12 people. You will be shown how to re-educate your body and restore balance through alignment, strength, flexibility and control of movements to regain healthy movement patterns. The focus is on quality not quantity with controlled and precise movements.

Benefits of Pilates include:

  • Promotes healthy joints
  • Assists in injury prevention
  • Gain long, lean muscles and increased flexibility
  • Challenges your co-ordination
  • Strengthens your core
  • Aids with relaxation and anxiety
  • Helps to keep a healthy mind.

I follow the Body Control Pilates 8 principles when I teach:

  • Breathing
  • Centring
  • Alignment
  • Concentration
  • Co-ordination
  • Stamina
  • Flowing Movement
  • Relaxation

RESULTS

“When I met Charlotte I was suffering from acute Sciatica pain caused by scoliosis of the spine and was immediately impressed by her professionalism and knowledge.

Charlottes group classes are both tremendous fun and challenging. She has the gift of making you feel that you are getting one-to-one attention even in a group setting.

In the two courses I have done with her, not only has my confidence grown but also my ability and understanding of Pilates. Also my spine is much straighter and my pain significantly reduced.

Charlotte is an inspiring teacher and I feel vey lucky to have found her.”

– Sue Wardell CBE

“I have had serious back problems in the past, which makes me very wary of putting my precious bones into anyones care, but Charlotte fills me with confidence.

She is passionate about her work- always positive and inspirational.

Running alongside this is her vast knowledge of the structure of the human body, Its clear that her training has been reassuringly thorough.

Charlotte is a great person and an excellent teacher”

– Gill Cheeseman

“ The mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power. ”
